After the last article on Free .ir Top-Level Domains, Parsdata deleted the free domain activity shortly thereafter, probably because too many people were freeloading. Although it was later restored, the difficulty of application has also increased, and many people were banned shortly after registering.
Therefore, today I will introduce another free one-year top-level domain ".link".
This time, registration also does not require a credit card, only email verification is needed, and there is no need to queue or grab redemption codes.
But I do not recommend renewing, as it is very expensive.
Prerequisites#
- An email address
Go to the activity page#
The activity page is located at https://www.dynadot.com/register-your-free-link-domain
Search for available domains#
Enter the desired domain in the Search for your domain
input box and press Enter or click the search button.
If it is available, it will prompt
If it is not available, it will prompt
At this point, you need to think of another unused domain.
Obtain the domain#
After finding an available domain in the previous step, you need to click the Next
button to proceed to the next step.
When this page appears, if you already have a Dynadot account (without claiming a link domain), you can scroll down to this point and click Login to an existing account
to use your existing account to log in, and then proceed to the next step.
If you do not have a Dynadot account, you need to fill in the information according to the form, with *
indicating required fields. After testing, Dynadot does not verify the authenticity of the information, except for Username
, Password
, and Email
, you can use fake information to fill in.
After filling in, you should be redirected to the login page.
At this point, you need to go to the email you filled in. You should receive a confirmation email with the subject "Verify your account email". Click the link inside to activate your account.
Now, go back to the login page and use your username and password to log in.
After logging in, the following page should appear.
Fill in as required, and it is recommended to remember the information you filled in, as it will be used as a method to recover your password.
At this point, you should have obtained the domain. If you find that you have not obtained the domain, you can try registering a Dynadot account now and try to claim it using the method for existing accounts.
Or wait for a while to see if you receive a payment confirmation email.
Set DNS#
Click the My Domains
button on the left side.
Click Manage Domains
in the expanded menu.
Click on your domain.
Scroll down to this point and set your records. You can use Cloudflare or directly set an A record or CNAME record.
Follow-up#
After creating the domain for a while, you may receive an email asking you to verify the whois. Click the link in the email to verify.
This is the end of the article. It is not easy to create, so if you don't want to sponsor, at least leave a comment.
